At the young age of 4 years old I got my first horse. A palomino welsh/quarter cross mare, that my parents traded my aunt a television for. At the young age of 4 years old I got my first horse. A palomino welsh/quarter cross mare, that my parents traded my aunt a television for. She was the best teacher and fueled my love for horses even more. From there I went on to taking hunter jumper lessons for years at Willowbrook Stables in California. Although I loved every bit of it, and definitely wouldn’t trade that time for the world, it wasn’t my niche. So I decided to try something new! That’s when I met Steve Ross and I knew I had finally found “my thing”. I trained with Steve for years and soaked up every bit of knowledge from him that I could. It was then I realized I didn’t wanna just compete and ride, I wanted to train. And after moving to Idaho, and training with Summer Housley for a bit as well too, that’s when I started building this dream of mine. I wanted to build something to help people realize and achieve there dreams with there horses. The reason we are “Bowman Performance Horses” is the little perlino pony in the pictures above. He was my first project horse I ever bought myself and really helped me get this thing going. Sadly, at only 3 years old, he passed from congestive heart failure. But I truly owe so much to that little colt, he taught me more than any human ever could have about horsemanship. So I named this business in his honor!

At Bowman Performance Horses we believe that a strong foundation starts on the ground. Whether your horse is two or twelve, the ground work always comes first. From there we will  build a solid horse under saddle that you can feel confident achieving your goals on. We don’t like to put a label on our program as we prefer to mold it around

At Bowman Performance Horses we believe that a strong foundation starts on the ground. Whether your horse is two or twelve, the ground work always comes first. From there we will  build a solid horse under saddle that you can feel confident achieving your goals on. We don’t like to put a label on our program as we prefer to mold it around each individual horse as they all require something different, just like humans. We believe in putting the horse first, through all aspects, and treating them like the elite athletes they are. With many years in the reining and cow horse industry that is how we like them all to handle. Soft, quick to respond, comfortable, and fun to ride. We firmly believe that the key to training a willing partner in your horse is soft hands and patience. We will never push your horse to where they are stressed or uncomfortable, which is why we have a “no 30 days” rule. We only do a minimum of 60 days on every horse so it is fair and safe for both the horse and rider. As they always say, “great things take time”! And we promise you the time it takes will be 100% worth it. We take great pride in the horses we put out, both for sale and training, which is why we always provide top notch care and treat them like family.
