Training, Selling, and Consignment

Hello! My name is Maddison Schwindt, and I am the owner and trainer of Bowman Performance Horses located in Canon City, CO. Born and raised in California, I started out riding english and participating in the hunter shows at a very young age. By the time I was a teenager I decided I wanted to try something different. So I began taking reining lessons from the well known trainer Steve Ross. It immediately fascinated me and had me hooked! I would go to shows with him and soak up everything like a sponge. He taught me so much about how to speak to horses, train, and ride like a pro. He was an incredible trainer! I then moved to Idaho for a couple years where I began riding cutting horses and training with Summer Housley. It was a blast and I knew I wanted to stay in the reining/cow horse world. Over the years I have strived to continue learning by attending clinics by Bob Avila, Chris Cox, and many more. I am always looking to continue my knowledge and education, whether that be attending shows or clinics, or just being around other great horseman and women. I pride myself on being able to adapt my program to each individual horse, having soft hands and a kind approach. While I specialize in reining, cow, ranch, and trail horses. I still prepare each horse I train for as many different scenarios and sceneries as I can so that you as the owner feel confident and comfortable taking your horse wherever you please. I am a huge fan of desensitization! I take great pride in each horse I train, whether it’s a clients or one of my own. And I would love to have you join the Bowman Performance Horses family!
